2011

Overview

in association with Iron Oxide. By Ramesh Meyyappan.

Inspired by Italo Calvino's 'Baron in the Trees', this is the darkly comic tale of a dysfunctional, quirky family and follows a disillusioned son taking to the trees to live an arboreal existence in disgust at his ever changing, brutal home environment.

Powerfully told through solo performer Ramesh Meyyappan's masterful storytelling, it uses imaginative physicality, an ingenious aerial set and aerial choreography, animation and live score to poignantly unfold the life of a boy, from traumatic birth to a typical family dinner…

This work is funded by the Unlimited programme, part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.
